When Nuh was certain of their firmness on disbelief, he called upon his Lord to make them perish out of their arrogant behavior.
He had to say that because they were doing nothing on earth than spoiling all the good, and training the next generation with the present one bad treads. Nuh said:
*”And Noah, said: “O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth!”*
*”For, if Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones.”*
-Sura Nuh, Ayah 26 & 27
After Nuh has asked for this from his Lord stating the facts in those verses as mentioned, Allah gave him a command.
He was commanded to build a ship and he started doing that, on his course of building a ship, he neglected calling them as it won’t be fruitful, instead of them to leave him alone, they never stopped their acts towards him. They molested him anytime they walk around him. They used to say:
Look at the one who believes he is a prophet, has become a carpenter. So they stopped calling him a proclaimed prophet and a mad man, he’s got a new name they said, “a carpenter”.
But something kept them worried about him, how could someone be building a ship on a dry land, is that not madness, they think. For a sensible human being, when you see something odd for the first time, ask about it before going on antagonizing it.
Nuh never paid attention to them, he only continued in the obedience of Allah’s command.
He continued in his work expecting the day of “Tannur” ( face of the earth), meaning, the day you see water coming out of the earth is the day Allah will send his punishment upon them. Nuh has to be ready, he continued his task to be saved, for their end is near.
*”At length, behold! there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: “Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family – except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the Believers.” but only a few believed with him.”*
*”So he said: “Embark ye on the Ark, In the name of Allah, whether it move or be at rest! For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!”*
-Sura Hud, Ayah 40 & 41
The Qur’an verses are very clear so I don’t need to explain futhermore. Allah commanded rain fall and the earth was also commanded to make water gush out too, and they both did as told. Allah Akbar.
*”So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth.”*
*”And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met (and rose) to the extent decreed.”*
-Sura Al-Qamar, Ayah 11 & 12
And that was how the earth was filled with water and its waves was like mountains in size. Allah says:
*So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains*
-Sura Hud, Ayah 42
So the ship moved by the name of Allah after the followers of Nuh and himself got into it.
*”She floats under our eyes (and care): a recompense to one who had been rejected (with scorn)!*
-Sura Al-Qamar, Ayah 14
And perished was the kuffar as they all drowned, saved was Nuh and those with him in the ark. Allah says:
We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together.
-Sura Al-Anbiya’, Ayah 77
After tthe ordeal, things came back to normal. Some scholars said the ship moved around for 6 months. A lot was said as to how many months and which country is the present place of Nuh’s time. The happening between Nuh’s wife and child named Yaam as said by some scholars. All these are details I don’t want to go into. Even this story I am giving is just a glance. If Allah permits, a video of it shall come to air.
In short Nuh was saved and those who believes in his call. What are the lessons from his life? That’s what we shall be delving into inshaAllah. O Allah! Don’t make us go astray and don’t afflict us with your punishment. Ameen.
