*It Could Be A Test*
One good thing about Ramadhan is that, even when you want to do something bad, your conscience will tell you don’t, and Shaytan is also in one corner of your mind, your Qareen.
It was very surprising to me when a friend called and said; won’t you watch ball to night?
Well, he was not talking to me coz “I fit slap am”. “A no dey play with that kind tin”.
It was then I asked him, which ball? He said: Champions league. Then I hissed. He said because Barcelona is out abi? then I smiled and told him he got it all wrong.
Yes, it is Champions league’s day but the time is fixed for Tarawih. The simple message I want to pass is that, don’t neglect Tarawih for Champions league.
Champions league is a worldly affair, but Tarawih is both worldly and afterlife affair. Choose one. It is nothing but foolishness, to say you will pray Tarawih later since it is Sunnah, Allah might be testing you with this. Are you choosing Him or Galatico?
You can always watch the ball again, but Tarawih… Wa an tusalli khayrun lak. And to pray is better for you.
Today might be your day of istijaba at that particular time… If you spend that time in front of TV uselessly, then i can’t do but pity you. Well, all affairs are in the hands of Allah. Go pray and put nothing before prayer.
Don’t be amongst those Allah say about them…
These are they who have bartered guidance for error: But their traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction.
-Sura Al-Baqarah, Ayah 16
But join the group which is described thus:
Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slained: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.
-Sura At-Tawbah, Ayah 111
Your achievement is in Tarawih, not in Champions league!
